I have a PC 3 years old which works just like the day I bought it. Thing is, people do not know who to keep their system clean. It becomes even more dangerous on the internet with all those spyware adware stuff, which is again - because the user doesn't know how to avoid it. Why isn't it on mac? mac is not popular enough for people to write spyware for it. Trust me, once it becomes more popular than it is now, it will be swarmed with worms, viruses, malwares etc etc etc without any protection because none was needed so far. My point is, that I don't want to keep anything clean. My mac requires *no* effort in this regard. In the three years you have had that PC, did you ever reinstall from scratch? Please be honest I don't know how to keep a PC clean. I don't want to either. With mac, it is simply not necessary. Everything being equal, it is harder to write a virus for a mac (except for the dot-oh major versions...) than it is for PC. Hmmm. I have written this soo many times, I just don't bother anymore. Everytime I go "maybe this time, they'll see the err of their ways"... nope. If software would turn away from the x86 platform, er the microsoft in general platform, it would be definite that I'd convert to apple products. Until then, I stay where I'm at and continue to wait until the day that software companies and developers turn their creations towards the mac. Since Mac made the switch to x86 architecture, you can run your windows programs directly and pseudo-natively in Mac OS X. I have even seen benchmarks, declaring macintosh computers faster than equivalent PCs running bootcamp - so sindows is actually faster on a mac than on a PC. Not that I understand why anyone would want to run windows on a mac though... Okayokay in all fairness - I have also seen benchmarks that say the opposite Otherwise, now as it stands, nothing beats a mac for media-based things and Internet browsing. -d Right you are! Couldn't agree more. Still, there are people who don't want to pay for the good stuff, and rely on free dodgy plugins. These are the dudes PCs are made for, and they have to have the hassle of upkeep. I found out that the right click is actually the ctrl key + the normal click, and that the actual ctrl key is the mac key. Now I have my precious functionalities back and see the mac as basically a really cool guy I'd like to get to know, just like in the commercials. No really, both kinds of machines are great and mostly the same thing I can see the appeal of the mac though for users who never could get over their PC. I mean if there syle is that important that they sacrafice user interface I am not interested. Computers are tools not some cool guy gimme a break!
