first equipment purchase

Right now I have a full dj set up with a 3-channel mixer, tables, approx. 200 records etc., a pc with soundblaster LIVE drive, Sonar 1.0, Soundforge XP and a couple other programs. I also have an MC-303 which I bought off my friend a couple years ago before I got into spinning. I've written some basic stuff on it, but I'm looking to expand in the gear department. Right now I'm in the $500-1000 price range, possibly a little more. However, I don't really know what type of equipment I should be purchasing first. Any advice you guys can give me would be great. Thanks!

Well, what do you think you need?

I'd say get a used analog, used

Akai sampler, MIDI keyboard,

Cubase and a Mackie 1202 if you

wanna start producing. All that

should run you a little over a

grand. Add a little FX

(Quadraverb, distortion pedal)

& you're good to go, methinks.

(Or you could sell your car

and get a Supernova, but I

like my way better...)

I'd say you should get a second hand pair of monitors.....
