Guest mondal
Hi all, I have recently used nuendo and I´m very happy with it! Before I used Cubase and there is one thing that bothers me in nuendo... Lets say that I want to play Reaktor VST in nuendo, and I will use my midi keyboard for this. The problem is that I wont get any midi signals from my keyboard to reaktor. I can record midi in nuendo with no problem but playing the reaktor won´t work. In Cubase this wasn´t a problem because It seems that Cubase does the midirouting itself. I mean that you choose a miditrack with right channel then activate Reaktor to this track. Works like a charm... But I do the same in Nuendo but no good results... This might be slightly confusing.. I hope you understand me! btw... Nuendo seems to be better regarding the CPU load... I can run much more VST´s now then before... In advance... many thanks!!! BanG!
Guest psychopat
Hi mondal ! If it worked under Cubase without doing anything it is because it was pre-configured well (lucky guy ;-) ). I do not use Nuendo but it may be the same. Go to the 'MIDI setup' menu (the one allowing you to enable/disable MIDI inputs). Make sure your MIDI input is enabled and activate the 'MIDI thru' feature. Make sure to enable at least the MIDI channel your keyboard is sending on. This feature make incoming MIDI messages routed to the selected MIDI track channel/interface. That's the way to make what you want under Cubase. I'm sure it is close to what you have to do under Nuendo. hope this helps,
Guest mondal
Hi "psychopat" I have tried what you mention before, enable/disable midi inputs... and midi thru option. But no luck here.. :/ Its very strange because when I press record on the miditrack then I can see the greenbar jumping up and down, so I guess It recieves midi when I use record. But I cant still play any VST on it. anyway, thanks!! Bye
Guest psychopat
the greenbar is MIDI out in cubase. I suppose it is the same in Nuendo. The MIDI in activity monitor is the redbar. Does the red bar jump when hitting the keyboard? Perhaps it is a bug in Nuendo. I'm of no further help, sorry.
Guest Slidingtrancer
Its no bug in Nuendo, you must have done something wrong there,.... Hmm if you still have the problem in the future I can help, at the moment I don't have anything on this computer and I still need to buy a midi-keyboard
Guest mondal
Hi again... Now I got it!! hehe In nuendo you must press "Record" on the certain midichannel to get it to listen for midi. So I guess my Cubase had some configuration that It went to Record mode as soon as I choosed a midi channel. I have found a similar option in nuendo but I havn´t tried that yet. But anyway... my VST´s are back online!! hehe Thanks guys... BanG!
