Guest Andreas of Amygdala
I need a huge favor from someone. I would be thrilled if any of you mac-users could spare 10 minuttes to check out something for me. I wan't to know, if it possible to run Voyetra's Digital Orchestrator Pro in virtualPC... How many audiotracks can run simultanously, and does the program crash? Some MIDI on the side would be nice... Please, if you're able to (and have the time to) help - take a look at www.voyetra.com - there you can find a demo. Let me know if you're into it, either here, or mail me at buding@hotmail.com - immense thanks in advance

Guest Elysium Project
Andreas..... If you are planning to run Virtual PC on a Mac forget it...it's damn slow on any Mac even the 2 x 800 mhz Power PC G4.... I suggest you do your live gig on a PC and then switch to a Mac after you gig. Be aware that you need to change quite a lot of programs in order to be able to make music on your mac...don't make the mistake and think that Virtual PC will do the job for you...it won't! Guest Andreas of Amygdala
THANKS Elysium, that's what I needed to hear - though I'm sad, 'cuz I hoped it would work... Hmm, I'll have to think of something else then... I came REAL close to buying it today, but din't (pheew ) 'cuz I didn't know if it would do the job... Hmm, maybe later then - Thanks again Elysium, you saved my *ss
Strumpling
Macs kick ass! There's just not much software for them. Anybody seen those new iMacs? The ones that look like some kind of lamp with a monitor instead of a lampshade/bulb? Slick! Long Live Apple! -=- Matt/Strumpling -=- Macs kick ass
Guest Elysium Project
Not much software for Mac's Strumpling????? Mate get your facts straight...lol :-) Check this link out and read all about the apple myths! Then I am sure you will change your view about the software. Guest akindo
Elysium: "Be aware that you need to change quite a lot of programs in order to be able to make music on your mac...don't make the mistake and think that Virtual PC will do the job for you...it won't!" doesn't really fit with "Myth 2: Macs don’t work with PCs." does it? akindo
Guest Elysium Project
Well akindo Mac's do indeed work with Virtual PC it's just not as fast as one would like when it comes to music production - why? because the Mac has to run 2 systems at once - together with the midi data! But yes Mac's can simulate a PC completely! Can a PC simulate a Mac?? NO my friend! I think that got rid of myth 2 - don't you think so? By the way I am not trying to make a Mac against PC arguement! I was merely answering a question and commenting on strumbling's view that there's a lack of software for mac's.... that's all...It seem to me akindo that all you are trying to do is pick a fight...grow up! And yes it is common logic even for a child in a Kindergarden that a person need to change programs when he or she goes from a PC to a Mac!
