Guest dam10n
Okay for years now I have been using shitty little belt drive decks that I got for a hundred quid and throuh my stuff, lending them to people, and generally being an idiot they are too knackered to work with anymore. I was going to invest in some 1210's, but starting to think now that CDJs are the way forward... so thoughts on whether this is the case would be appreciated. Also checking the pioneer pro dj website, in addition to the CDJ1000's they have a CMX1000 which is more an integrated unit with more features... any ideas what I should go for? Part concern is the old thing about getting to a venue and then finding out they use a completely different setup to what you're used to .... but I gather that Pioneer CD decks are just about the industry standard? Guest Entity
In my experience Pioneer CDJ's are standard. I'm not sure of the specs on the models you mentioned, however an important thing to consider!!!! Some CDJ's are top loaders. They pop up like a car hood. Some are front loaders. Which are like a car cd player. You have a slit in the front that you slide the cd in to. If you are going to be playing outdoors often. There will be lots of dust and dirt flying off the dance floor, and this can get into and ruin a top loader easily. I know some people who learned this the hard way and had to then invest in front loaders. Still it depends on how often you plan on using them outdoors. Guest Jeto
I have played with both the CMX 1000's and CDJ 1000's In my opinion the good part about CMX is that it has auto mix, but otherwise the CDJ 1000 is much better because it is a "vinyl" let me rephrase it "Digital Vinyl" tha means you can do whatever you want with cd like a vinyl... www.pioneerprodj.com for more info
