Guest bugbread
Hnnyaaa. If you're reading this, Erez, pay no attention to Cosmic Visitor. It's pretty much impossible to listen to Classical Mushroom and think, "Hey, this is commercial!". He's just using it because it's a simple, effective insult. Not because it has any basis in reality. By the way, CosmicVisitor, what happened to the space between Cosmic and Visitor? Oh, I see, trying to make your nickname cooler so you'll be more popular. $ellout. Guest CosmicVisitor
Hey, bugbread. It seams you are one of those just wanna be part of this forum process replying @!#$. Well, for your information, the 1st track from Classical Mushroom (Bust A Move) was the most popular and most best selled track(meaning dollaros) in Israel in the psytrance genre at its time. Wanna talk about commercialism? hnnyaaa. Stop listening to known bands just because they played good in the past. example: Astral Projection were in my opinion one of the best psybands. Look them now, Faithless remixes etc.... -===- Soon to come "Britney Spears feat Astral Projection" -===- I'm sorry if i hurt anyone, but it's just how things are. And i know erez, amit, lior, avi etc don't give a @!#$ about this forum. I don't give a @!#$ about their opinion either, psytrance is a movement not another music genre where they look upon us like dollars. Keep the psy-vibe alive! Guest spacemonkey - 604
so if a track sells good it is commercial an therefore not made with feeling and soul but made for the money??? come on man think!!!!!!
Guest Cujo
not it doesn't mean that. but when i come to think of it. If this really was Erez, then his Ego is quite big, since he has this nick! he could be named Erez or anything else. but he just had to totally mash out that he was from IM! well, this is another sign of big egos, and the people in the music business that i know who has big egos.. (we are talking really big), are the ones who only do it for the money!
Guest bugbread
Hell, then, I'm the best artist in existence 'cause NOBODY would pay for what I write. Simon Posford? Hah! He's writing it all for the money. Or perhaps you're more into the minimalist end? Atmos, Son Kite? Their records sell more than Partheogen's. Must be because they're sellouts. Remember, the only GOOD artists are the ones that are unpopular! As for "listening to bands because they're popular", well, the first time I heard of Infected Mushroom was when I was in a goa bar and the owner put on Classical Mushroom. I was so impressed that I asked him who the artist was and bought the CD the next day. It certainly wasn't because of how popular they were. I bought the Gathering later and was far less impressed. Of course, by default, I will now be considered an idiot because I don't like the same music you do. Very convenient. If an artist wants to make an unconventional record with harpsichords, of all instruments, I'm actually LESS inclined to consider them a sell-out than some band using the tried and true sound effects and structures proven to sell albums without using creativity. I certainly don't expect to convince you to like Classical Mushroom. A difference of opinion is your perogative, and the world would be boring if everyone thought the exact same thing. But to accuse someone of selling out merely because they are successful seems rather misguided. (Out of curiosity, would you consider Dali, James Joyce, Stanley Kubrik, or John Cage sellouts? They've all produced very successful works that brought in many dollaros)
