Guest triplex Posted February 4, 2002 Posted February 4, 2002 anyone uses this one ? is it as good as they say ? how much does it cost ? Quote
Guest lifeform Posted February 4, 2002 Posted February 4, 2002 hey triplex. I use this program. It's really nice. It's gotta very very good sound for being software. Excellent for pads or atmospheres. The only draw back is it's lack of knobs... It does have a menu in there called "easy" and it has some parameters to tweak, but not alot at all. Like you dont get cutoff and resonance that we all love. I believe it's like 200 dollars. If your missing something in the pad/atompshere section i'd say pick it up! Quote
Guest kilian Posted February 4, 2002 Posted February 4, 2002 actually it does have cutoff and resonance... just check the operators... Quote
Guest lifeform Posted February 4, 2002 Posted February 4, 2002 oh yeah... well i guess it does... My fault. Quote
Guest Tegma Posted February 8, 2002 Posted February 8, 2002 Yeah we have start to use it lately too!! Great for pads and stuff!! Quote
Guest Jeto Posted February 8, 2002 Posted February 8, 2002 Its like the Yamaha DX7 if im not mistaken Quote
Guest etherdesign Posted February 8, 2002 Posted February 8, 2002 Not so, there are several major differences.. 1. The DX-7 had only sine wave operators, the FM7 has 32 operator shapes. 2. The DX-7 had no filters, the FM7 has 2 serial/paralell filters. 3. 1 LFO on the DX-7, 2 on the FM7 4. Simple envelopes on the DX-7, the FM7 has freeform envelopes, almost unlimited which can be synced. 5. Insane modulation matrix on the FM7. 6. Only 32 FM algorithms on the DX-7 (which operator can modulate other operators) Unlimited on the FM7. And so on.. there are so many differences.. it's not just an FM synth.. IMO it's better at VA than some synths (hard or soft) that propose pure VA synthesis. Quote
