k... I'm barely starting to get into this.....

Is there any way to have cubase "record" my actions? It seems like it should be able to record me tweaking knobs and dials...... kind of a "live mix" type of thing?

Or do I really have to make new tracks for every little turn of the knob on my synths?

say it ain't so!

Hi Matt....if u are talking about playing effects like filters over your parts, just set it to record overdub and play over the part playing whatever effects u want. It;s just overdubbed that new data over the existing information so should record whatever actions u play.

Enjoy!

Also make... To record your faders... Mixer controls and Plugins...

You see that Write/Read Bottom on your mixer? Press write, just PLAY and record your movements... stop, and turn off write, and press read, and ta daa.

You never wrote me back about my track either stumpling! What'd ya think?

hmm.... this stuff works with midi channels too, right?

still can't get it to record my actions. the read/write thing didn't seem to record any knob-turning with my synth...... and this overdub thing... I can't find it. I'm a true beginning ;-)

Lifeform,

I didn't write back bacause i'm really sick right now - it sucks ass!

But I listened to your track quite a few times...... I'll shoot you an email right now :)

If its SysEx data that your trying to send from your synth, then make sure that the SysEx Record Filter is not switched on.

Go to the MIDI settings option, then MIDI filter, and make sure that the SysEx record button is not switched on

In order to record any data that is not assigned to a controller number, you need to do this in order for Cubase to recognise your knob movements etc

Good Luck

hey why you saying my tracks "sucks ass" in public, your givign me a bad name. you said you liked it!

When you re cord your synth movements too... Create a seperate midi track for your tweaks... That way you can delete them if you mess upa nd then try again.
