My only tip is:

Try to learn one at the time, maybe have a guide in the beginning..

but most important: PLAY!! Toy with sounds..

take the time you need

I just realized that I haven't answerd your questions at all.. sorry :)

No, I don't know where you can learn those programs!

good luck!

I give u a little help:

try Buzz(free) at www.buzzmachines.com . It's my main program for Goa, works perfect and makes u understand what makes a sound what it is because u make a sound from a simple dry waveform, add LFO, ADSR, all that. Ive been buzzing for about 2 years and I would't give Buzz for Fruity, Reason and all that. My opinion: Buzz is powerful tool. Good quality, modular and simple.

Most ppl won't look at Buzz because it's not pretty(no user-friendly interface) and because it works in Hex base numbers(1-16) but instead of using programs that "do everything for u" I'd go with Buzz because it teaches u the secrets of synthesizers and effects.

My second point: play with a program til u understand what "makes" the sound, that's why I recommend Buzz.

I haven't answered your question either but I hope I made 2 good points.

peace

hehehe, well, just to confuse you more, dont use buzz, it sucks ass imo,

and the best way to learn is to just jump right in and play with EVERY, SINGLE BUTTON/KNOB/SLIDER/FUNCTION u can!!!!!

there's no substitute for foolin around!

Reece: why does Buzz suck ass? just asking for an honest thought...

well, it's maybe because it doesn't look all that pretty like "loopy fruits" and reason and others, but how much time have you spent with Buzz? I bet Buzz's Infector+RhythmGate+PanzerDelay can do just as good as a $400 program or $2,000 synth(I'm thinking of Waldorf Q). of course it doesn't replace a good synth, but can be just as good...

peace
