Hey..

Depends if you want vinyl or CD...

To me.. Cd is better than vinyl for now.. because its much lighter and doesnt weigh as much as vinyl and you can flip thru tracks much faster...Also its easy to get unreleased/underground music on CD format... or MD, DAT which can be transfered to CD more easily than 12 inch....

So for CD

Well an ideal setup would be 2 Pioneer CDJ1000'S....

and a Pioneer DJM Mixer

For Vinyl...

2 Technics 1210's

For Computer, Mp3 djing...

try

Native Instruments - Traktor

Hope this helps you out...

Go for the CDJ-100S, the 1000 are too expensive at the moment. Also there's no point getting vinly if you are in India, as you would need to make sure that it doesn't melt. The Pioneer DJM-300 mixer is good for getting going, but only has 2 channels, otherwise there is the DJM-500 and the DJM-600(which has effects). These are more expensive but are 4 channels. All these mixers have beat counters, which is good for getting started, but don't rely on them, as you may have to use mixers at parties that don't have these...Good luck and Namaste!!
