Guest lifeform Posted March 4, 2002 Posted March 4, 2002 I'm saving up to about 1700 dollars... I wanna know what you guys think is the best combination or just single peice of gear i should get. Just a Waldorf Q KB Just a Virus KB or a Micro Q and a Virus Rack the one for like 800 bucks... not the desktop, the rack. ? Are these little throw off the the mother beasts really worth it? Quote
Guest Inu Posted March 5, 2002 Posted March 5, 2002 $1700 is a LOT to spend on synths... maybe get the Micro Q and use the rest to buy some crazy effects units? Quote
Guest lifeform Posted March 5, 2002 Posted March 5, 2002 i'm pretty much set with effects and what not. I have everything a bedroom studio should have. I just need more sounds than my JP8000, EA1, and korg N364. I need a beastly synth to take care of my multitimbral cravings. I'm not really into software synths... They all seem alittle to flat for me... Though FM7 sounds like hardware. Thanks for the reply Inu... I guess i could use another effects unit. I have a ART SGX Nightbass Studio Edition... and about every single plugin known to man that doesn't crash my system. That new yamaha effects rack looks pretty cool. I have some time to save up... Guest Tripoholic Posted March 6, 2002 Posted March 6, 2002 hey man buy the Virus Indigo!!! i did it last week and sold micro q... and i am very happy with that... Quote
Guest Epsilon Posted March 7, 2002 Posted March 7, 2002 Buy Virus KB instead! Why? Because: 1. KB doesn't look so cool as Indigo, but Indigo lacks aftertouch and has puny three octave keyboard when KB has five octave keyboard and aftertouch! 2. They're completely same machines expect the stuff mentioned above. 2. They have same price tag. Quote
