Guest jakemyth Posted March 13, 2002 Posted March 13, 2002 How about going for a smaller version.......a micro q is about half the price of the q rack and is just as good i think Quote
Guest lifeform Posted March 13, 2002 Posted March 13, 2002 i'm planning on getting a microQ in a few weeks, but i'm kinda rethinking it... It only has 4 control knobs! I'm a knob freak, and i need more than that. I think maybe the 20 or so knobs is worth the few hundred more. I know the MicroQ's got menu's to go to each parameter... But i just the thought of menu's brings me back to the day when i didn't have any VAnolog. Quote
Guest Nick Posted March 15, 2002 Posted March 15, 2002 Waldorf Q keyboard owner here : 3 Osc with basic waveforms, 2 can play wavetable waveforms(128x2 waveforms) and when they do there are 2 suboscillators at pulse = 5 Osc !!! per sound 59 control knobs(!) EXTREME routing capabilities at the filtering section unheard of sounds with some wierd techniques (xform, comb filter routing) 16 part multitimbral basically i only want some FX and i don't think i need another synth!! not very expensive if you REALLY SEE what it's offering but hard to fully master it + weak reverberation + weird manual (!) you choose (if you want i can send some nice demos of it) Quote
Guest 3001 Posted March 24, 2002 Posted March 24, 2002 the Q is more expensive because it's STILL the most powerful VA dsp chip wise. the interface is nice. it's still better than the uQ the uQ has almost all of it's DSP power maxed out, while the Q has only used half of it's dsp power:)...but the memory for code has ran out! heheh so they have to reengineer it to make more use out of it =- Quote
