Guest lifeform
32 parts? i think you mean 32 voices... means 32 notes played at the same time. i believe it's 8 part multitimbral... that includes the drums, which i'm guessing are quite poor. your right spiralix... they haven't made anything good since the jp8k. I like my little shinny blue beast, just gotta know how to tweak, that's all. roland blows now, but ya gotta respect them for some of the coolest anolog giants ever created. Guest Rikard
well.. i think u are a bit unfair to Roland now.. Okay, The Sh-32 is nothing like Virus or the other giant synths. The filter sound almost the same as on the MC groovebox series, and the filter stepps.. As i see it, there are 2 reasons to look closer at this thing: 1 it has a good user interface. It is quick to edit, with very lite menus. Almost all parameters are directly on the front panel (this is better than many other VA syntsh, for example Virus is pretty ankward to edit). 2 It is cheap. 4 part multitimbral, with 2 FX units (that sounds rather good), and it costs about 400-500 $ i believe. So, i would most definitivly check this one out if i didnt already have some equipment. Looks pretty nice to me.
Guest drav
For all you lot in England Future Music have just tested it. The general gist seemed to be that for the money it wasnt bad, they said good noises, filters very geared towards the dance market, in fact whole synth geared towards dance market. However they also had a few gripes about it, and i seem to remember them saying that it was capable at producing the noises of the past very well, but not a lot of scope for making noises of the future. Don't know if that means any thing to you Oh yeah they liked the Novation K station tho
