Guest etherdesign
If you want some serious thoughts about a synth, I really would go to a forum like The Gas Station there are many more musicians there.. However if you want my opinion.. if you like the Nord sound it's great, it can do everything a Nord 2 can do and more, however depending on the complexity of the patch, you may get less polyphony than a hardwired synth like the Nord Lead 2.. but there are alot more modules.. it of course has a very Nord sound, clean, somewhat cold, but that can be taken care of with some external effects or not at all if you need cold and crunchy sounds.. the interface is good, not as complex as Reaktor but the Nord sounds better in some analogue-emulation situations.. Also, the Nord Modulars don't come with much RAM on board, so there is no reverb, and you won't get very long delays.. If you don't like in-depth programming, I wouldn't really recommend this synth, however if you're familiar with subtractive synthesis and the principles behind it and enjoy programming, this is a hell of a deal.. however it's best if you have some nice external effects available, particularly in the reverb and delay areas..
