Guest BeN
I know this has been posted many times before. But i need some suggestions concerning a soundcard and some monitors(i have 200 dollars US for both), knowing that i want to run one synth. And also should i spend more for the monitors or for the soundcard, which one is more important??
Guest etherdesign
Both equally important, save more money and buy something better in the future.. if you get something that will just 'do for now' you'll be kicking yourself down the road. Guest Elysium Project
The monitors are a very big part of a good sound result and a good audio card will indeed improve your sound if you choose to use software. Never compromise with your monitors and indeed also your soundcard or outboard mixer desk.
Guest Ben
so how much should i save to get good monitors?? I think i can get a decent soundcard for 200 dollars, what do u think?? Would it be that bad if i spend also 200 dollars for the monitors?? Thanks for your help.
Guest lifeform
save up ATLEAST (!!) 500 dollars for monitors. I'm getting my Event PS8's tonight! Get a midiman audiophile 2046... they are only 150 bucks and work quite well. : )

Guest eXpulse
SAVE UP and buy something nice I don't think buying passive monitors would be such a good idea , cuz you still have to get an amp for them , and a good one would be expensive ( you don't wanna use one of those home audio amps) if you don't have much money , the only choice for you is M-Audio Audiophile 2496 is pretty cheap, and it has really low latency, virtually no noise and amaizing quality , it was like 150 us now about monitors , save up or get used ones , but monitors are the most important part of the studio I was in between buying event PS8, Tannoy active reveal, or Alesis mk2 aktive and i bought Alesis cuz i got an amaizing deal on them , and IMHO they sound really flat and nice and i only paid around 500us plus they put new crossovers in MK2 so it's really crisp and that's stupid but i just loved their design ( well what can you do when you can't afford Mackie:)
