Guest Ferox
Hey there, I'm a dutch hardcore-techno producer, well.. actually trancecore, but most of you guys won't even know it excists.. it's very small I want to start to produce some psytrance soon.. I'm about to buy a Korg Prophecy to use for lead synths and I already have a Mackie mixer + some effect gear. So now my question is..: I want to create those really phat basslines and something to create great fx-sounds with.. what synth(s) should i get? many thanks in advance! peace! Guest spiralix
Its fun to make bassline with analogue machines! it gives a phat base!: ) i often do min with my korg mono/poly, its a nice peice.. but i bet any other analogue will do too.. You will need a midi/cv convertor tho! Good luck!
Guest Ferox
thanks for the tip! I'll start looking right away... can't wait to explore the world of midi.. I've been tracking for 6 years now(FT2 after that Buzz).. it's time for something new now :-) I've seen a Korg Electribe EA-1.. maybe that would be usefull for creating good solid basslines? Guest Rémi
I have an electribe... if u have only a few money, it could be good... But if u have heavy budget, so go for a Clavia norlead or an access virus... THose are the fattest synths i've ever heard... For FX's, all synths can do it, just tweak the right knobs dude! Perhaps JP-8000 is interesting, like the microwave... Or go for an Akai sampler (or an other one of course!) Bom!

Guest raz [etnoscope]
If you wan´t to produce phat basslines stay away from the ea-1. It´s weak design and poor sound quality makes it nothing else than a mere toy. For real phatness nothing beats analog, or maybe virtual analog like virus,nm etc. You can pick a up a used analog synthesizer for a couple of hundred bucks, (and sometimes even cheaper than that) and get a midi2cv converter to controll it. Or you could buy the syntecno teebee which has 4 midi2cv converters and a tb303clone built into it...
