Guest Dive
Can anyone tell me the advantages of recording in 24 bit instead of 16 bit? I know there is a theoretical difference, but no matter what, it must be 16 bit before it can be burned to CD, so can you actually hear the difference? shpongled
When you process sound after recording it kinda loses bits.......... 16bit might sound like 12bit after heavy processing (especially if you do it with computer).
Guest AgalactiA
It's better to Add many different Mastering FX on a 24bit file - it has much bigger resolution to work with. and after you deither to 16 bit - it sounds much better.
Guest mashiro na zenshi
In fact, 24bit audio has a dynamic range equal to 256 times that of 16bit audio.
