Guest The Nothing
a renegade set of drivers for SBLive, EMU APS, Audigy and SB 512 with full ASIO support. apparently you can get the latency pretty damn low (lower than the ASIO drivers that come with cubase) even on a sblive. worth checking out: http://www.kxproject.spb.ru/

Guest reece
dont forget to mention that if you use these hacked asio drivers, your sample rate is locked at 48khz, good quality yes, but i little annoying when 44.1 is more universal... use at you r own risk too!!! :-)
Guest samantrabhadra
My experience: I was really interested to reduce the latency on the audigy. Right now, I have a 43 millisecond latency using the ASIO DirectX Full Duplex driver, 46 milliseconds if I switch that same driver to a 44 kHz sample rate. I never have any stutter or crackle during playback, unless heavily tweaking realtime controls and effects (which is not related to the driver as much as VST-CPU performace, I think). Anyway, I am looking to buy a Nord Modular this week and wanted to drop the latency to the 5 ms level the kx drivers purport. I installed them and immediately discovered two completely unacceptable issues: 1. a crackle during playback in the drum editor window in Cubase when the playback looped out of the active screen or back to the first beat, and 2. CRASH! CRASH! immediate exit, disappearance of Cubase when simply looping a base-line and surfing through presets on Absynth. Switched back to the Creative drivers, and problem dissapeared, stable, tweaking all over Absynth. So, great concept on the kx project, but no dice... lasted less than 24 hours on my system.
