Guest suarajana
knowing that logic does it and now cubaseSX encodes surround. here's what i'm thinkin: a CD won't playback in surround (?) only stereo IF a CD (probably can actually) store the Surround-encoded music, the house system and/or your studio monitors will need that kinda panning rig. i dunno? but I'm gonna do some research. imagine when the standard music-listening system is a 360* circle....so pretty, eh? Guest monno
it is actually quite possible to play back surround encoded material now take for example the dolby pro logic , ac-3 or dts surround formats which the dvd format uses can easily be used just for audio this would in theory mean having a dvd player with analogue outputs for all the channels and then just hooking it up to the amps and speakers you will still need some addtional speakers in order to utilise the 360. hopefully this will be a reality soon as the super cd format is being developed and this still quite expensive technology becomes a familiar sight in every home. unfortunately i think musicians and party organisers will be quite slow to take up this new and exiting way of making music but it´s a personal dream of mine to twist peoples headz with the sound coming from all over, must be the ultimate experience!!!!
