Guest akindo
Hi all. A stupid question: how do I load a .wav file in a Logic Audio audio track? Thanks for the help! akindo
Guest phlux0r
Hopefully you've got your audio devices all set up properly in which case you should have one or more audio tracks in the sequencer window. What you do then is select the audio track you want to load the audio file in and choose the Import Audio menu item then just browse for the .wav on your HDD. Alternatively you can create a ESX24 sampler instrument and load your wav into the sampler where you can use the sampler filters, lfo's and other sound massaging features. Guest phlux0r
oh... and there's a reasonably good tutorial on how to set up and optimise Logic on the computer music magazine site: http://www.computermusic.co.uk/tutorial/logicindex.asp
Guest akindo
Thanks a lot for the help, but I still can't figure it out! When I try to import .wav file, it says an audio track isn't selected in the arrange window. I think maybe I don't have an audio track in the arrange window. I have an audio object named "Audio 1" which was set up by Logic already. I read in the help file: "To create an audio track, you must first assign an audio object as a track instrument. Click on a track name in the Arrange window, while holding down the mouse button. This opens the hierachical Instrument list flip menu, where you may select an audio object via Audio > Audio Track > Audio X.. To help things along, audio objects "Audio 1" to "Audio X" are preset for the HDR hardware." However, when I click on "Audio 1", I see "Audio" > "Audio Deactivated" > and then a list of "Audio 1" to "Audio 4". Does this mean I haven't set up the audio right, and that it's deactivated? I am getting really frustrated that I can't get such a simple thing to work!!! Thanks again! akindo
Guest reece
"...Does this mean I haven't set up the audio right?..." yup. go to the Audio menu, then select the Audio Hardware and Drivers option. here you need to tell Logic what soundcard and drivers you want to use. do so and then restart logic. the audio should now be activated. :-)
Guest phlux0r
And that's why I added the post with that link to the tutorial. It describes all the setup procedures in detail....
Guest akindo
I already looked in the options of Logic, and the guide only tells you you should select the audio drivers for your soundcard, which I had done. What I HADN'T done was click the little box that says "PC AV". I did and now it works, thanks a lot! akindo
