does anybody know where i can dnld fm7 manual,

or at least a place with some good tutorials or programming advice for fm7??

coz all ican get out of it ar blips and beeps.

nothing i program sounds even close to any of the factory presets

[ie, nothing that i create sounds good]

you have to try hard and practice. the presets are already there waiting for you to study them. they are 'open source'

pay particular attention to every detail and especially how the routing takes place (the matrix)

well thats not it,

you see, ive never programmed a dx7 or similar synth before.

so the matrix etc are new concepts.

so if any thing could just guide me through creating a simple say pad, or somethiing it'd be great.

FM synthesis is some complecated @!#$. I'd first look for some tutorials on FM synthesis itself and then apply some of what you learned to FM7.
