Guest triplex
you have to try hard and practice. the presets are already there waiting for you to study them. they are 'open source' pay particular attention to every detail and especially how the routing takes place (the matrix) good luck
Guest thesoul
well thats not it, you see, ive never programmed a dx7 or similar synth before. so the matrix etc are new concepts. so if any thing could just guide me through creating a simple say pad, or somethiing it'd be great. Guest parhelion
FM synthesis is some complecated @!#$. I'd first look for some tutorials on FM synthesis itself and then apply some of what you learned to FM7.
Guest phlux0r
Here are a few links that may help... A brief intro to the FM7 synth with video tutorial: http://www.musicplayer.com/CDA/Player/Prin...71996-1,00.html A brief FM synthesis tutorial: http://www.sfu.ca/~truax/fmtut.html A longer version: http://www.sfu.ca/sca/Manuals/fm/FM_Tutorial.html Another short FM tutorial: http://musicplayer.com/CDA/Player/Main/1,2...5171870,00.html In any case you can always do a google search on "fm synthesis theory" or similar and see what you can find...
