Guest Reflekshun
I really need to start recording with either cubase or logic audio.. I have had a peek at logic audio and felt fairly comfortable with it.. however since they are not continuing for the PC.. i am starting to consider learning to use cubase instead.. do you guys think this is a good decision? can people give me some rough pros and cons to either of these apps? i would appreciate that heaps.. as would many others i'm sure _|reflekshun:::... Guest Jaimz
All the sequencers are pretty equal. Although if you've got a PC basically you can forget about Logic from now on. Your choice is now down to Cubase or Cakewalk, and if you want VST then you can forget about Cakewalk, so that pretty much leaves Cubase. Cubase ain't so hard. Sure, it's got a learning curve but everything does. Stick at it, learn it, and make beautiful music. :-)
Guest ether
why are they discontinuing logic for pc? will they still be posting updates on the emagic homepage?
Guest Jaimz
I don't know exactly why, but I suppose it was the whole reason Apple bought Emagic in the first place. Most music makers know their sequencing software better than their operating system, so I'm guessing most Logic on PC people would rather move to a Mac than move to Cubase. At least, I'm guessing that's Apple's motive for their decision. Or maybe they just plain don't like owning a company that's releasing PC software. :-)
Guest ether
i always knew that i would have to move to mac eventually...i just didnt think the switch will have to happen in the next 3yrs tho :/
Guest parhelion
....and the fact that somebody has forced you to make the switch is absolutly crazy... I'm very disappointed with both companies right now. I've invested a LOT of time learning logic, and now I'm going to have to invest a LOT of money to buy a mac. Guest Ra'anan
Parhelion, you could also switch to something like Sonar, which im using, Ive used both logic and cubase and settled with cakewalk because of its ease of use, you'll have no trouble learning sonar because the interface is much more straight forward than that of either cubase or logic, check it out, it might change your mind, if your using softsynths you wont have trouble using your vst machines in sonar with a vst -> dxi convertor and there are plenty of great softsynths available for sonar, check it out Ra'anan (sardaka, f.n.a mantis) http://www.trance.org
