Guest Bodhisattva
You should NEVER peak with your kick , beacuase it gets malformed like this , you can better use an MB EQ to get that HARD LOUD kick.... the advantage of using the eq is that u can use a stupid 909 Kick and make it kick ass.... ps: NEVER PEAK WHEN USING DIGITAL AUDIO , thats my opinion. it can sound good, and if you think that it's better that way , just do it ! But on most normal stereo sets it wil sound to crouded, to pumpt....
Guest 4d
I agree to avoid peaking at all costs when dealing with digital audio, as at some point down the chain in another system (that is not the one you mixed the original song on) it will sound shithouse. If you're recording to an analogue device (ie reel to reel) give it ago as the distortion can add a certain quality to the sound. My question relating to kicks is how the hell does talamasca get such a solid sounding kick out of digital equipment, if it is infact digital? I would lurrve to know.
