Guest nathan
hello i was wondering if overloading (clipping) on waves C4 is a good idea? i know with the other renaissance stuff it has that built in saturation algorhythm so that when it clips its like tape/valve saturation but is C4 like this? i use it to pre-master tracks with waves ultramaximiser behind it & someone told me i should only limit 3 or 4 dB on the ultramaximiser which means i have to pump the gain on C4 to get the level i want (which causes occasional clips) the instructions say it has 48bit internal resolution that is dithered to 24 bit after the master fader & it says it is impossible to clip in the bands but what about the master? Guest reece
yo nath! cant really answer your question, but i use this little work-around, by running like a waves REQ graphic b4 it and cranking the gain on that. gives that nice tube saturation u mentioned. :-)
