reason 2

The graintable synth is nice, VERY sick sounds can come out of it. The sampler.. well more controls, but i got enuff with the old one. 2.0 got some new goodies like tear out sequenser (not bound to the "rack").

I would not recomend to pay for the upgrade, its almost the same as reason 1.

i do have to admit that reason two is more like an upgrade than a new release. a couple of new tweaks to the gui, and a complete overhaul on the 'instruments', but in all nothing radically different than 1. it should also be mentioned that the changes that are made are all definitely for the better.

The new synth is a complete new machine .... It's quite good for a softsynth :) I has nice sweeping sounds and is easy to edit.

Nice predefinded waves (but also LIMITED) and good filters ....

The new NN is also verry nice , the power to create your own sample banks and sample's ... and to use and re-arange existing ....

It's ok, reason 2......

Not worth the hundred $ upgrade i gues but hell....

If you dont wanna spend the money ..... Get a casio :) :) (or kazaa)

I have a new song with 4-6 malstroms and 2 nn's... sure to post it when finished....

Ciao folks

I say the Malstrom alone is worth it... plus the split rack/seq windows bonus. Haven't really tried out the new sampler, the old one suits me fine so far... Just uploaded my first track done in v2.0, has a bunch of malstrom effects - they sure can sound outta this world! =)

If you wanna check it out:

www.electronicscene.com/eoi - only one track there so you can't miss it...

ok; nobody seems to be speaking on using the maelstorm synths connectors with the other parts like redrum; and subtractor [out of this world sounds. try doing this : subtractor--> redrum [gating]---> maelstorm [filter input stretching modulation] ] you'll love it.
