Guest Scalar
OK Ok - there are a million and one people begging for reviews, but please help!! All of my other friends are into hardcore, gabba and acid techno etc, and don't really get psy at all - a lack of the recquired inner ear maybe. If you do me the favour of reviewing my track, I'll return the favour etc, but I really really WOULD appreciate it I could get an informed opinion of my music! Also - be as nasty as you like! I would prefer an honest review! My setup is Fruity Loops, Wavleab, Orion and its all chucked together in Acid. I have numerous plugins too. And it all runs(just) on a P200mmx. However I have a SW1000XG so the sound is OK. My track is at www.audiosurge.com under the electronic and DJ section and under Scalar. Please help me with a little of your time!!!! Guest Scalar
Lust - thanks for your kind words & time - Shpongled your are right you ARE lazy... But thanks for considering it anyway The kick comes out of Drumsynth which is freeware and has been through a million and one plugins. Cheers Scalar
Guest Scalar
The track is now up at MP3.com along with another http://www.mp3.com/Psy-A-Nide so if you were feeling to lazy there is now no excuse!!!! In Erratum: The kick comes from SynDrum - which is freeware. I start with a kick there which goes from around 700hz to 50hz, then I put it in wavelab, compress it with MDA dynamics HARD. I then load that up into fruity, fiddle a bit with FX3 on the sampler to give it some punch, and click, then lower the cutoff on the low pass filter to about 3o'clock, to get rid of the very high frequencies this produces. Then it goes back into wave lab for some EQ and compression I would agree entirely about the bass line. One thing I cannot seem to do is get a decent bass out of the TS404 unless its a standard off beat chugger ... As for people saying that the sound quality is poor on fruity - well I would agree. However - this can be used to your advantage if you go in with unblinkered vision and an open mind. Good sounds are very definately possible, but they might not be what you had in mind in the first place, however , I don't know if this is such a bad thing - it stretches you to think in new ways. Cheers for the positive (and negative) comments - they are all useful!
shpongled
Ok....... nice atmosphere at the beginning...... bassline comes... maybe it's little thin sounding................. good use of a stereo field in the track........ pretty cool sounds but the track doesn't do much for me..... it's propably because i like melodies (but not cheese)............ oh now the bassline got more fatter...... this track is like industrial meets psytrance (that's positive comment)..................... there are already meny tracks like this.......... this could be released by some label but these days many psy labels are realeasing a lot of boring music that is just well produced...... it's just my opinion.... somebody might get kicks out of this track but i didn't..... sorry. Guest Scalar
no need for apologies shpongled. I understand precisely what you mean. It doesn't have enough bite or 'special' moments does it? Its difficult to judge how captivating an idea is when you live with it for a while, and it can get trying on the ears to constantly listen to a full on sound, however, I understand and agree with your criticisms, and will endeavour to do better on the future. Thanks for your honest opinion Scalar
