MIDI CONTROLLER OR SYNTH KEYBOARD?

THIS IS MY FIRST PIECE OF EQUIPMENT I AM BUYING,I HAVE DONE RESEARCH, AND STILL I CANT DECIDE.

EVERYONE HAS AN OPINION BASED ON THEIR OWN SETUP.

THERE ARE SO MANY KEYBOARDS FROM DIFFERNET MANUFACTURERS ETC.ETC.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET A KEYBOARD 49 KEYS+, THAT CAN HAVE ASSIGNED CONROLS, WAVEFORM, FILTERS, VOLUME ETC.ETC.

I HAVE BEEN TOLD TO GET A MIDI KEYBOARD, AND USE VST AS MY INSTRUMENT OPTIONS.

IF I DECIDE TO GET THE MIDI CONTROLLER ,THE EVOLUTION MK249C, WILL I HAVE TO NOW DESIGN A WHOLE LOT OF SYNTHS AND SAMPLES, SO THAT I CAN START WORKING ON THE CONTROLLER?

FOR SOME REASON THE VIRUS KC, REALLY APPEALS TO ME, DOES IT ALLOW YOU TO SEND MIDI CHANGES, FILTERS,WAVEFORM ETC.ETC TO CUBASE, IN REAL-TIME?

I AM A NEWBIE SO EXCUSE ME!

Yep, you'll be able to use any keyboard synth made within the last decade or so as a midi controller. I use a kurzweil 2000 vp as my 'master' keyboard, but the virus is a good choice, especially for this genre.

If you want to tweak in realtime, you are really going to have to invest in a pro audio card with low latency, unless you've got a G4 which seems to have low latency onboard. I would recommend the M-Audio Audiophile. It has about 5-8 ms latency, 2 audio ins/outs, spdif (useful if you buy a DAT recorder in the future), midi, 24bit 96Khz sampling, and a low pricetag :)
