Guest Gaittins
I just got a Virus B desktop module and have integrated it into my workstation. There are problems. Here is the gear and platform: PowerMac G3 beige 300MHz Digital Performer 2.7 (FreeMIDI 1.44)(Clockworks 1.7) MIDI Time Piece AV Ensoniq KT-88 Korg MS-2000 E-mu Orbit3 Access Virus B Here are the problems: 1.Ocassionally and without warning the Orbit will just totally freak out and will play MIDI data (controller data) that's coming from somewhere and therefore tweak out the sound so I can't hear it. I would just hit the panic button but I've read the manual and tried to find an "all notes off" message but I can't seem to find it. If anyone knows what to do to send an all notes off message to the Orbit3 I would appreciate it. 2.The Virus will get stuck on notes that I'm playing on the MS 2000(the controller). There is a panic function on the Virus so this is just a small problem. I just hit the panic buttons and it gets right back on track. 3.The panic button on the MIDI Time Piece AV doesn't seem to help. It only resets the sound for a brief second and then I'm back to the problem. The weird thing is that I don't have any controller data being sent to any of the units. I think that the Virus may be sending LFO out and that's why I can hear the sound tweek out for a minute before I loose it completely. The on;y solution that I've found is turning the Orbit3 off and then back on. After that it will work perfectly for an undetermined amount of time... then poof back to the f@*&^!@ing problem. I'm at my rope's end and I'd love a little insight from someone. A thousand thanks to anyone who can help. Gaittins
Guest phlux0r
Maybe you could install a MIDI message monitoring program and try to determine which of your instruments is sending the messages... I don't really know much about Mac based setups, so this is just a far fetched idea...
Guest jakemyth
THere is a function on DP that allows u to check the operation of each midi device. I think it's under the Basics menu and is called MMC or something like that. I'm not in front of it at the moment but will check further for u when i get home...... Good to hear someone else using DP. I love it, the best sequencer around IMHO enjoy jake
