Guest Scalar
Hello and thanks for stopping by! My problem (for now) is this, I've been producing Psy for a couple of years now, and feel that I have outgrown both my PC pand software. Serious outlaying of cash is starting to look like the only way forwards. Having decided that it has to be so, I am now faced with a number of dilemmas. I have until now, worked entirely with Audio. Of Logic and Cubase SX, which is the easier to LEARN? From what I gather, both have awesome capabilities, so I don't care which is BETTER, as they both look great! If I get a virus KC, can I use this as a controller Keyboard, or will I need a seperate MIDI keyboard for this? Are there any good books around to teach me about MIDI? I am also upgrading my computer... Are the fastest laptops (P4 2.53Ghz) really suited to audio work, or is there some hidden pitfall I should be aware of?????? I'm not after budget alternatives, I am really trying to get some nice kit here, and I need all the help I can get from people who aren't TurnKey employees!!! Thanks in advance for any questions answered!
Guest Protex Midget
Believe me, you don't need to waste money expensive hardware. Look at artists like Lish, Cosma & Hujaboy, who make their music entirely with audio! If your planning a studio, then this is what you need: -=Software=- - Cubase VST 5.0. - Cubase Plug-ins - Soft Synths (which work with cubase): Junglist PPG Wave 2.0 FM-7 JunoX2 Pro-Five Pro-52 Pro-53 - Reason - Reakor - Soundforge 5.0 - WAV Lab 3.0 - Halion -=Hardware=- - Good Sound Card (Luna 2, Pulsar) - Monitors - (Behringer, Tannoy, Event) - Headphones (Sennheiser HD25) - Cheap Midi Keyboard - Lot's of Hash... hehe this is a perfactly good studio setup, and if you have the skill, then you don't really need expensive hardware synths...
