Guest jakemyth
Hey Mike........u r makng a great choice with the Waldorf Q. A very powerful synth which is more than capable ofproducing the sounds u want for psy. Your music will improve a lot once u get a synth like that. Plug ins r basically effects or software versions of hardware equipment. They r run from your computer and are only available to access once running a program that supports the type of audio system u run. For example I run Motu's Digital Performer 3 and it uses MAS as it's audio system or Motu Audio System. So i can only really use plug ins that are supported by MAS. The most common types of plugins are VST ones. I am not sure but i think Reason may supprt VST plugs, if so u can get like a filter plug in effect or a soft synth to use with it. Hope this helps enjoy jake
Guest Bodhisattva
Your almost right Jakemyth but REASON does not support VST plugins, it has a load of effects build in (phaser , compressor , filter , reverb , distortion, chorus /flanger) but they are limited , for starters its GREAT it gives you an idee of what you can do and you can figure out if you have what it takes or not Sooner or later you wil be calculating your effect settings with a calculator and stuff ........ :) Vst plugin : Virtual Studio Instrument or something like that.... Direct X plugins: Direct x plugins Programs supporting vst / DX plugins ? Music making: Logic audio platinum (discontinued on PC from september) Cubase Sx mastering Spark (MAC) Wavelab Soundforge Hope it helps Ciao and PLEASE let it stop raining here ! BOOM ! Guest mk-11
REWIRE reason to cubase sx and ad vst plugins to reason channels.. man is it easy to hook up reason to sx now no tedious hook ups...walla and it does it all for ya, all channels labelled for ya synth 1 , malstrom, dr. rex etc and send efx to the one ya want... reason may not support vst but cubase supports reason...
