You know these Euphoria compilations?

They advertise them on TV and stuff in the UK, not sure about their global presence.

Anyway they're usually club-trance peak time melodic stuff, then they went for the chillout market in a big way last year, and now.... psy.

It was nice knowing you!

Yahel next to Sinead o Connor... opening the CD with Blue Planet Corp...

Sorry I think I may have come across a bit moody on this one. :o)

It is Monday morning after all.

ood credit to them and I am a bit cynical about these compilations and that.

But every person who gets turned off alice deejay and onto S-Range is a result, and yes EP i agree that the artists are finally getting the credit and $ they deserve.

But you have to admit it's funny going sinead o connor, then yahel :o)

Well it might be funny but I don't think anyone else apart from the psy community think it's weird!

When Jean Borelli and I released our Sheyba EP "Into the 4th Dimension" on Flying Rhino (1995) we ended up on the Uk industry chart as no. 10 just above The Petshop Boys! Eventhough we never really made that much money out of it we were pretty damn proud of it. I bet most artists (including the psy artists) like to see their music on the charts and get some credit for their work.

Definitely need to get this music into the mainstream....EP I was just thinking, you mentioned on a thread a while back that you were missing some music...Does that go for the EP you just mentioned above????

well that's all great and that but i wouldn't want "mainstream" to come to the parties ... it's happening now already in Belgium and i have to say it doesn't to any good to the psy-communitie ... if the whole world would feel half the feeling that people like on this forum get when listening to psy than it would be a rocking world but the majority is comming to these parties cause they are "cool" or it's really "saiko" at goa's or like for taking drug's ... almost every style of music lost it's true value when the mainstream got on it ... let's hope this doesn't happen to psy ...

JanUa ... . . . . . . . . . knockin on wood ... knock knock :)

Elysium; you have more things to be proud of.

The music you guys put out during this period around the release of 'into the fourth dimension' set a new standard in the genre and got many many people hooked on it. Thats a fact. Its a shame the industry still is so small.

Dunno if many people actually know that one of the biggest selling trance albums of 2001 if not the best selling trance album (I am not into figures to back this statement) was in fact pure 100% non-Cheesy GOATRANCE.

Thats right, the re-release of Paul Oakenfolds 1995 classic Voyage into Trance sold like hot cakes, especially in the US despite Paulie crying out loud it was just a bootleg with a flashy cover... So probably in 2001 more people heard Hallucinogens LSD than in the years 1995-2000 alltogether...

But did it catch on? Was GOA hip all of the sudden? I guess not...

So they can release as many hip psy compils as they want, advertise it to death...but this music will always have some freaky edge that makes it damn hard to catch on (thank God). I don't think that stuff that matters such as Psysex, Cosma, Shpongle and The Delta have any hitpotential...Let alone some attraction for a more mainstream crowd that likes it not too complicated and sing-a-long...

This one ain't gonna fly...

In principle I have no problem with music becoming mainstream (It always bugged me when people would say that any music which became popular had "sold out", despite not having actually changed). However, speaking as a person in a place where Goa is mainstream, let me tell you: you don't want it to happe Sure, great acts come to your place, but crowds are immense, hot, and undancable, half the crowd seems like they're looking for a fight, and the majority of the people seem like they're there for the drugs, with the music an accompaniment. Trust me, you don't want to see it happen.

As for "Hamasaki Ayumi....can't say anything" hehe...It's an instrumental dub, so that's doubly true.

all I can say is that things are never black or white...always shades of gray...or maybe colors?! anyway, I share JanUa's concerns....

I cannot believe what I'm reading. Mainstream will be the death of psy trance. Do you want your parties filled with the trash that you see in most average bars or clubs? It already is becoming too commercial. So many parties I've gone to lately were filled with people all drunk and too fucked up to know what's going on. They had no clue what goa was. Believe me, I asked. They were just there, and often times with a bad vibe. I strongly believe that goa is not meant for everyone, and the more you commercialize it, the more ruin you will bring to it. If goa becomes all money and fame oriented, it will become a joke in everyone's eyes, just like those candy raves people find so ridiculous. It would come to the point where you'd find yourself dancing amongst a bunch of 15 and 16 year olds dancing in their Madonna and Backstreet Boys t-shirts while Simon Posford's playing. Not too mention what mockery the media would make out of it. "Commercial" and psy trance DO NOT GO TOGETHER, just like Miranda and originality.... Think about it people. The goa spirit for me still remains anti-fame & fortune, and anti-compromise. For it to cotinue being inspired by unique thoughts and emotions, it must not sink down to the level of all the mindless @!#$ you hear on mtv or your local radio stations.... This is how I see it. I'm sorry if I offend any Backstreet Boys or Miranda fans, or those who go wild when they see their favorite celebrity dressed and made up on the cover of vogue....

M has got it, to M you LISTEN!!

If you really want to be apart of the massive corporations who have nothing but a doller in mind then join the hip hop community. Or get a job at a software company... Some of you Artists say somthing like they deserve more money. Frankly this is a selfish comment. Saying you DESERVE more... truthfully, if you deserved more, you'd GET IT.

If your out to make a buck, go be a buisness man, or make club trance. There are ENOUGH people out there in the world just trying to make money and get rich. This community's Åpurpose is not to be a cash-in. Go buy a lottery ticket. Leave us in the forest under the stars...
