OK , I know you need 'the ear' for it, but maybe i need some tips.

Im Still having trouble knowing wich kick drum is from wich track when mixing , also wich one is ahead of the other.

Any good tips? (Do you use both tracks in headphones , or one ear monitoring? ... what im i missing?)

Please give me some Ideas on the way some of you pros do it.

Thank You.

The new track that you want to mix into the "older" track should be in the headphones (one ear is most reliable) while you listen to the "older" track in the speakers / monitors. This way you know how to seperate the kicks :-)

Well that's my technique but I am sure theer's plenty other ways to do it.

Another good rule which I was told by legendary house DJ Judge Jules is to "scratch" (move the vinyl back and forward) at the start of a kick on the "new" track with the 4/4 (count 1 - 2 - 3 - 4) beat on the "older" track and release it so you instntly feel and catch the beat.

Hope it's not too confusing :-)

It's kinda hard to describe it.

Yes ,

i know the description is hard to do , but i like your tips (unfortunatly for me its a matter of seeking the track and hitting a button , not scratchin coz im using CDJs :)

I think practicing with two identicle tracks is a good way to start as well.

Maybe some other people could quikly step me through their tecnique of mixing two tracks...

Be interesting to see what deferent methods people have...

I'm learning to mix psy-trance as well and am wondering about people's techniques... How reliable is beat-matching? Do people ever leave two tracks in the mix for very long with out doing adjustments? I've found that they drift over time...

DJing suggestions welcome!

Also, do people prefer mixing on CD's or vinyl?
