Guest akindo
Hi all. I might get a laptop, but only if it is possible to get a good, moderately priced soundcard for it. I wanna start producing. I saw that the Even Layla has a laptop card converter, but the Event cards are way too much for me. Do you know any makers of laptop soundcards, or any models you can recommend? Thank you for your help! akindo
Guest Rishi
Any external soundcard with USB connection should do.

Guest reece
how much is 'moderately priced'? :-) there's a tidy little unit called 'Quatro' by m-audio, (i think) usb, 24/96, 2 ins/2 outs, asio... im seriously considering one at the moment. tascam also make a little usb box, but from what ive heard they are not terribly reliable. good luck! :-)
Guest AMP
I have an Delta Quattro, and Im happy with it. Get an USB or Firewire sound card, this gives you the benefict of processing the sound outside the computer, easy to carry around and good sound, low latency. Check the Motu....great sound cards, but the prices are great in size as well. The M-Audio Delta Quattro should cost you between 380 euros and 440 new, depending where you are. Hope this helped Plur
Guest Will
Is USB such a good solution, it will have to be USB 2.0 to match/beat firewire. Some laptops do not support. Perhaps PCMCIA is a better solution. Of course that also depends on the laptops specific PCMCIA bus. I have not researched this and so only raise some questions. I have seen RME pcmcia multiface is a pro solution for laptops.
