lsd (chemical brothers rmx)

the live mix is very similar to the original - harder kick and a few things in the wrong place - it could be that unless it's something some kid knocked up in his bedroom, and uploaded to napster or AG under a clever name...

But The Chemical Brothers are truly great, though. Been a fan since Dig Your Own Hole and have almost every release. Seen them live twice, really amazing. Would be cool if they did a psychedelic track, just to see if they could master it. Just check out "Chemical Beats", they're pretty good with the 303, or whatever it is.

ChemBros are versatile artists, and they can make psychedelic music (Private Psychedelic Reel for example...)

The idea about a psytrance track of them is interesting :)

My theory is that some psytrance fan figured all the Chemical Brothers fans could do with a little mind expansion, and renamed LSD to LSD (Chemical Brothers remix) in the hope that it'd come up on AudioGalaxy/Napster/Morpheus when people went looking for rare Chemical Brothers tracks..

some of their tracks are definatly pretty psy i reckon.

Wasn't one of the dudes in the Chems a trance guy and the other was into drum and bass and they put it together ?

Bet the brothers, wouldn't be able to do any good from this.

as Simons original samples are probably too twisted and sick, and far out.... for them to have any clear thoughts over it!

i agree with cujo. i picked up the latest chem bro's album to check out what the more commercial side of the dance scene was up to these days, and it was utter shite! what a load of bollocks. cheesy, predictable, silly--and to top it off, with all the gear and money in the world, even the production sounds shite. nothing even remotely psychedelic for me in that one. like a car company asked them to do some "psycedelic" tunes for a commercial.

Well, i haven't heard the new album.

but compared to Exit Planet Dust, Dig Your Own Hole and the last one.

it was like.

Great

Also Great.

Not so great.

and it was sorta predictable.

TOTALLY NOT GREAT.

the last album was VERY predictable IMO.

the others where more, psychedelic and new and really really block rockin'.

they got commercial , yes.

that doensn't necesarrily mean it's bad.. but usually it does.,

bands that START commercial, might have a better chance to stay good, than the underground band , that goes commercial.

in an old MTV interview, for the mtv music awards.

Simmons says: I LIKE THAT SOUNDS THAT CAN REALLY MOVE THE BODY,,,, BOOOM SOUNDS.

i don't think he will stick to that.. seems like they turned pretty much away from that.

Like the prodigy.

Liam, used to make all the tracks himself.

not really on "Jilted Generation",. but some of the tracks,,, especially the real killers, where made with other people.....

not that im saying he cannot do it alone... but it's says something about the music

then comes : HEY BOY HEY GIRL

made by Chem. Bros.. and maybe 3-4 others????

ok, a few of the other tracks where made only by Chem Bros.

but then a lot of the tracks where with others?????

i bought some of their 12" just for kicks.

the main track was by Chem. Bros ,,, the B side, was only by them.

always sucked a bit compared to the A side,,, with the commercial sound.

doesn't it say something about their work???????

I think they're trying to change the style to earn some more money and because big beat is dead. We've seen Fatboy Slim, Daft Punk and Basement Jaxx done it, so why not the Chemical Brothers? Haven't heard the new album yet, but I know there's still some funky tunes on it, like Bouncing Galaxy.

Don't think their live act has changed....

I like the Bros' older stuff, especially Exit Planet Dust. Dig your own hole was already worse for my ears and I really don't like Surrender (don't have it either). But someone was asking about psychedelic stuff them: check out Loops of Fury. It was on the soundtrack of WipeOut 2 (for PSone) and also came out on a single that is long ago sold out. And I think in addition to those you will only find it on the net. But it is a really good track, with very psy-trance like ripping sounds (loops of fury, the name says it all).
