Guest Will
I bought one of the first editions. It was a monophonic synth so that gives you an idea of the limitations anyway. One of my friends who is expert in analogue synthesis got some good sounds out of it and sweeps. I guess it is ok for bass and as an addition to other synths in your studio. I never liked it very much. Probably the rack model would be better as the 2 octave keyboard is limiting. I think I remember X-Dream using it live. I am commenting on the first edition though. I think it is better to have a full synth that does all kinds of sounds including bass. Like have one real good expensive synth than several cheap ones. Drav is correct and some of the VSTi synths, pro 52, pro 53, pentagon, triangle make very nice analogue bass sounds and other psy sounds. Absynth will give more organic bass sounds. Especially Native Instruments is kicking major ass.
Guest wogglez
the bass station keyboard rocks, great for bass, great little keyboard, can run on batteries, knobs send midi out:)...an insanely good synth for the price, almost all of old cosmosis sounds are bass station, bass station sent through kurzweil for mangling, simply the bass station is a great synth pros: great sounds analog filters cute keyboard inice mod/pitch bend wheels knobs send midi extremely good price for what you get cons: osc can sound a bit harsh(it's digital) notes at times get stuck flimsy construction only 7 memory locations(i don't think you'llneed much it's not a complex synth) simply i's great fo squiggles bass and filter sweeps...if you have a hard time making a good bass sound with this you should stop making music

Guest PsyTrix
Is the basstation rack better?
Guest Reflekshun
Psytrix - The Basstation and nord 2 have distinctly different sounds - you can be REALLY sure that these synths don't overlap you'll get wildly different basses on both synths.. and besides, you just GOTTA have that nord in your room don't you? lol you know it! You can't compare these two synths, they both are too different, but i love the sounds infected pull out of that basstation, they are still usable and sound very fresh in today's music Hope that helps! _/reflekshun>>
Guest Lunar Man
I had both of the version but now i have only the rack...the rack is much much better...don't listen to the people that says, you don't need more then 7 storages..FIRST OF ALL you have only 1 storage, the other 6 are programed when you buy the synth...i have the rack now and there you have 40 presets and 60 users and i am using all the 60...defenetly go for the rack...and it's great for Psy and it's even better when you put some Dist to it..killer sound!! and it will emulate the TB-303...go for it Lunar Man
