Infected Mushroom Release Me:

"Release me!"

"Open the door - get him outta there!"

"No, wait..."

"I know there is much we can learn from eachother, if we can negotiate a truce. Can there be a peace between us?"

"Peace... No peace."

"What is it that you want us to do?"

"Diiiie..."

From 'Independence Day' [1996]

you can always check out Cropcircles to find out something like this.

Fudge! I was always wondering what those samples were from, and after listening to the samples over and over again I had a whole mental image of the two men talking to the entity and what the entity looked like. Nothing at all like ID4. Bit of a shock.

Then again, that makes my image all that cooler.

Guest StoNeY!

totally agree oa...

Is there a law or something that says that psy samples have to come from cult and uncommercial movies?

Like oa said, end of story, let's not go in a sample discussion, almost hate that as much as the melodic-minimal discussion...

Well, Infected Mushroom loves movies and do spend a lot of time on watching DVDs'n'stuff. So I've read at www.infected.co.il, and I think it's kool enough.

Some of us take our media more seriously than

others... here's the thing. I'm not about to

complain about every "known" sample artists

use, but there is a pretty heavy subtext here,

and I don't think it should go unmentioned.

My rant for the day:

ID4 is a great example of far-right, reactionary

politics; the enemy can't possibly be painted in

shades of grey, they have to be Pure Evil.

So in the movie, they have to say "Die" - as

opposed to "your land" or "your technology"

or, conceivably, "equal rights". All those

answers would spark a thought, you see; which

detracts from the thrill of the moment.

See, the problem with ID4 (and IM's sound,

IMHO) is that it just whips people into a

frenzy - you might walk out saying "sure,

that'll never happen", but a steady diet of

those films, son, and you are ready for war.

Made in America, recycled and regurgitated in

Israel...

But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Addendum: what the hell is up with that title

"Independance Day"? Independance implies

freedom from dependance. No one was dependant

on the aliens! They wanted to KILL us, not

enslave us! It should've been called "Survival

Day" or "Resistance Day", or... oh yeah... War

Of The Worlds. Silly me, patriotism makes

everything new...

Hey Inukko - Maybe The movie is called "Independance Day" because the Alien attack and fight with the aliens happens on July 4th. Hmm, hmmmm July 4th????

Oh wait thats 'Independance Day', mix in our fight for freedom from the aliens and you have your movie title.

It does sell more movies, that's

my point. It just doesn't make

sense.

(now, if the aliens started taxing

everything & we dumped a crate

of "Earl Gray" from their UFO,

maybe it would fit;)
