I know it sounds weird, but my mac won't start... It's my own fault I might add :)

I tried to switch to mac OS X, by setting the startup folder to the one mac OS X is installed in. When I start the mac now, all I get is a black screen with some odd prompt telling me, that etc/password-folder does not exist, and that I'm in some IOKernelDebugging mode - not good :(

I tried holding down the option key while powering up, and that works fine, but only the OS X system is found, allthough I know 9.2 is there somewhere...

Are there any other nifty tricks I can pull?

I don't have the mac OS CDs to recover from, so that won't work either - I should mention, that it's about a powerbook, and that's probably the reason the option-key thingy doesn't work...

Any suggestions?

Huge thanks in advance, I would really appreciate ANY help :)
