Guest Andreas of Amygdala
A mac would definetly crave an external sound card - especially if you're into recording stuff. Else, you'll have to make due with the built-in microphone Dunno about PCs, they prolly have the same prob'... The Mac is (in my opinion... touchy subject...) better - speed, reliability, availabilty of software, development options (loooove supercollider...). Only downside is the price - and that's a huge downside, 'cause they really are a lot more expensive. Bye for now
Guest Arvind
If you go for the laptop option, then make sure you've got enough memory, a fast CPU and plenty of hard disk space. Also, you would most likely need to invest in a decent sound card, either a PCMCIA one or a USB one.
Guest Noope
i don't think it matters, make sure that you have plenty of Ghz and memory,.The big problem is usually the sound card. I have a Laptop myself which will be used for live sets, the problem is that the power connection (is that the right word?) will disturb the audiocard make sure that you'll have an exterbal soundcard or a good filter.
