Guest George W. Bush
Lots of good points, but I won't blow sunshine up your ass (you can get your girlfriend to do that for you!). Main points for me: 1. Sets a clear tone throughout, I can tell this wasn't a "slam it down in a half hour" type of deal...well, maybe not (only you know!!!) 2. I felt the intro w/the storm samples was stretched too long. You should also bring down its level a bit in the whole track. A good tone can be established in far less time, and particularly with "cold calling" feedback like this, the shorter the intro the better. 3. Rhythms are well thought out...nice to listen too. However, due to the nature of your track, I feel that you should make the percussion the show piece and not the samples. Compress them a bit, maybe make them a bit brighter...DEFINITELY lower the levels of your samples! They should emerge from the track, not punch right through it. 4. Maybe it's a difference of opinion, but I want a track to move me to a different place than where I started. Here, I felt that it was a good place to be in, but I was getting tired of walking in circles. Good variation, but I don't think variation on its own can make a complete track. I would suggest shortening the track and then at some point introduce something the listener can grasp onto that compliments what you've already established. This will also be the thing the listener will remember at the end. I feel like there's another part to this track that should be coming in, but never does...and it's that part that will complete this musical idea and give the listener something to think about. 5. Increase the complexity of your bassline!!! It can be very subtle, but hitting off the kick alone doesn't really do it for me. Hope this helps. Good luck with the track! Guest psy-fi
impressed : ) can´t help you out much to make it better tho :: ) very relaxing to listen to. i agree with what said above. but i think the basslines fits the track, its as i said said relaxing to listen to. the track is one of those that could go on for 20 minutes. you listen to it and do something else the same time, like driving a car, working or whatever. im listening to it right now and thats why i write so much bullshit because im under the influences of it, i get a feeling i this could go on for ever. its not a track i would freak out on the dancefloor if you know what i mean. damnit it ends now....oh well, thanks for the trip inkubator! ///psy-fi
Guest inkubator
wow, is there a better way to be reviewed? one guy is analyzing the other is enjoying, thanks for your teamwork, you both made my day... :-) @gwb very nice review and yes, it helps and it counts for me. i agree in most points with you and add the total arrangement that could be lot better. the point with the bassline i will to think about it, but i like it at the moment as it is. as psy-fi said, i think its part of the trip... @psy-fi *lol* very nice trip-report indeed. its good to know somebody is triping on my track... as you said, the track isnt for the dancefloor, it is for a (hopefully:-) good journey... thanx again
