Guest AMP
You need to feel the crowd, see how they are going, how they are reacting to your tunes, and just play the tunes you think are going to cause more impression on the dance floor. It depends on how you want to make the public feel, there are all types of tunes, the trippy melodic, morning, full on, abstracts, all types, you just need to know what the dancefloor needs and what you want to give them
Guest Clone
You don't have to make notes.. just listen to the track...
Guest Rafadelic
When Dj's in front of you play things the people like - that doesn't mean they won't like something completely different. the trick is to make a long intro on the right moment and make a tripswitch into your own territory. Ofcourse always pay attention to the crowd, but don't be to concentrated to the freaks upfront who dance to any track !! In my oppinion It's ok to make a playlist of records fitting perfectly - lots of live-acts do the same - I don't agree that it's all about improvising - you could be dissapointed cuz you didnt play the things you wanted and you followed a non-excisting leader. When you prepare a set, just leave some doors open for different directions..
Guest cricket
i agree with all pervious posts, the only real mental notes i make is if the crowed tooks bored than start doing something to draw the attention back or mix the tracks more to diversify the sound, that and those damn records that pull the off and on beat swithching (son kite) can be fustrating if caught off guard. just keep playing around, you'll figure it out, it's one of those thing that everyone does differently. Guest psybrat
hey pratik .. in addition to all above posts .. one more thing to observe is type of track like morning, fullon, chill, etc .. most impotrantly, you must be able to weave tracks into one another .. that is very important .. nothing like a good well woven trancescape .. love and light, psybrat PS. are you from bbay ??
