Guest Entity
Ok i have an sh 101 and I need to get a midi adapter. Are ther differences in different adapters? Has anyone here used an sh 101 with midi? What functions do not work on the main unit when midi is driving the sh 101? Does the computer (midi sequencer) play each note seperatly (like with normal midi) or is it simply replacing the "lfo/click" and telling the sh 101 when to play the pre sequenced pattern? i don't want to start soldering the inside of this thing or invest in a converter until I know what am getting involver in. Any help is apreciated. E
Guest DeeperNETWERK
I believe if you were to attach a midi adapter to your sh101, the only midi information that would be sent I/O would be your note on and off. It doesn't not translate CC's or program changes. Hey... I'd take it though. Tweak that shit by hand! ; )
Guest Andreas of Amygdala
I have a Kenton MIDI -> CV/Gate converter to control my SH-1, and it works pretty good. Note-on/off is recognized by the Gate, and CV controls the pitch of the note. I don't know how, but the pitch-bend actually works as well, and since this can control filters and LFO-depth on the SH-1, I'm pretty good going - thanks to Kenton. I program the tunes in the normal way in logic, send them as standard MIDI to the Kenton device, which is hooked up to the SH-1's CV/Gate input - and there you go .oO Andreas Oo. Guest Entity
Do the all the sliders work as well? I can't see why the wouldn't, they are not part of midi, but they are relevent to the cv/gate. I will get a converter but I really hope I can sequence in Cubase VST 5 and record live slider tweeks.
