Guest entity
i am using cubase vst 5 Get this.... In Battery i get a good kick. i play it on my midi keyboard and record it with the step sequencer. It plays back, but when i use the draw tool to record what notes to play it plays back much louder!!?? Now, To test this I played a little rythym recorded with the step sequencer and then drew some notes on top of that. When I played it back the same sound was played at 2 different volumes. 1 lower for the step sequencer and 1 louder for the drawn in notes. Anybody know whats going on?! happy new year! Guest ehcsztein
could it be velocity sensitivity? fromm what i am hearing you said...notes trigger from your key board have a lower volume than those "drawn" in on the puter...i would think that the software is recongnizing the velocity of they keyboard notes and playing back with said velocity and that the notes "drawn in" are being played back at a different (perhaps max) velocity... Though i am in no way a soft-sequence user so take it for what its worth
Guest Reconstructed
I'm pretty sure it's the velocity. By default when you draw in notes in the MIDI editor it puts them at max velocity. At least thats how it was for me when I started. Go to the controller window deal and click on velocity, see if the ones you drew in are at full power. Guest Bahamut
Reconstructed is right. But why record drums with your midi keyboard in the first place? I think it's much easier and quicker to draw and simply copy/paste drumpatterns. If you need to change velocity quickly, select the notes you want to change and press CTRL+H .. then a window appears where you can add or substract velocity for the selected notes
