Guest ehcsztein
well since yer interested here you go... we do not use a consolidated sequencer to control our gear so if this seems a bit odd let me know... We use an ensoniq ASR-X as our master clock to sync the other gear together... From the ASR-X the clock splits into three groupings of gear...each controlled by one person...(i am #2 FYI) #1 = Quasimidi Rave-O-Lution 309 / Korg EM-1 / Oberheim Matrix 6 #2 = Korg ER-1 / Korg EA-a / EMU XK-6 / Kawai K3 #3 = Kork Trinity / Korg Prohecy ...We build individual sequences on the...various Groove boxes (309 & Korg E's) and sound / patch design on the primary synths (Matrix, K3, Prophecy) and then use the trinity and XK-6 to fill out the sound and add arps etc... We pride ourselves on flexibility, and religiously experiment with the various portions that are designed on the individual boxes so that when we get to a live show there are really no limits to what we can do... This process also allows for each of us in the band to express our own creativity (through moduler sequences etc) and then have the overall sound be a combination of the three individual sounds...though it does cause an issue with our inability ti reprodcuse"songs" from a live show...then again should they be able to be reproduced? Cheers, ehcsztein
