Guest The Dark Continuum Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 Hey Does anybody here know how to make your own drum sounds? The only thing I succeeded in was a kick made with soundforge FM synth. Hihats and snares never sound like it all. Thnx Quote
Guest kits / faxanadu Posted January 10, 2003 Posted January 10, 2003 Hey, try using a noise oscilator, with a short and punchy envolope, some filtering maybe add a triangle or saw for a clingy sound and you can make pretty much anything from hats to crashes... I do use samples must of the time and just manipulate those... Quote
Guest DeeperNETWERK Posted January 10, 2003 Posted January 10, 2003 I personally use Waldorf Attack for kicks and snares. Hihats are always hard to duplicate without a actual sample. It's very hard to acheive that 'metal' sound (unless your an FM pro or use a ring mod very wisely). To tweak my hihats, i ussually use Battery and import a real hihat, an abstract noise, and maybe a resonance bleep. Change around the volume/pitch, and come out with a nice weird hihat. This works great for downtempo/ambient stuff. Trance using goes with the standard untweaked hihat sounds. You can always break the rules though. Quote
