Guest Alek
ive only recently started making music using fruity loops and i find the ts404 to be a great synth, but it does have some limitations. the biggest being that you can't use it in the piano roll, this means i have to split up a longer riff into different patterns, but also that i cannot set it to hold a note. if i put some notes in the sequencer they will only by "pressed" and released, not held, when played. you know what i mean. anyway, is there a way around this? also, it uses its own delay settings. what's the difference between setting that and putting a delay effect on the channel? lower cpu usage? and one more thing. when trying to put a plugin through the browser by going to the plugin db/generators and choosing muon tau or tritium for example i get a message - "fruity wrapper is not a generator... that is, it's not to be dropped onto a channel". but when looking in the folder i see theres a tritium.fst file there. what's with that? do i need to download the plugin or what? k, thats it. if you could just help me out with these things i'd be really greatful. thanx in advance
Guest kits / faxanadu
hi first get fruity 3.5 it has ts piano roll also in 3.5 the ts doesn't have a delay anymore... kinda a pain cos of backwards compatability. Anyways i think the delay on the ts used to be one of its features but because it only had one general setting for all the ts and because you might not always need/want delay so they chucked it out. It conserves cpu cause ther's one less module on the ts... n i reckon delay in genreral is pretty cpu hungry. If you wanna hold a note just turn the gate and release knobs to the right. A .fst file is just a preset file. you need the dll file of a plugin for it to work. kits / faxanadu www.angelfire.com/droid/kd-ip
Guest Alek
thanks! ill get fl 3.56 and see how it goes. and ill play around with the knobs a bit i downloaded the muon tau VST. in the fl help it says i should put it in the plugins/vst folder, but then, i can access it only through the effects window. how do i add it as a channel in the step sequencer? tnx
Guest kits / faxanadu
The steps to get a new vsti to work in fl : 1 ) Copy the DLL into the fruity vst directory - not the fruity plugins one, the vst one! 2 ) Open Fruity, open a new channel, select more, select Fast Scan at he bottom and it should find your new VST and highlight it in red. Then it should appear on your selecting list along with all your other vsti... If you did this and i'm not telling you anything new let me know and I'll try to look more into it kits / faxanadu www.angelfire.com/droid/kd-ip
