Guest Sending Demo Tapes info Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 Well I'm ready to send a demo tape around. Now I would like to know how should I send them. I mean schould i send a mastered + unmastered or how does it go. Quote
Guest .:::EP Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 Send the best production as possible but if I was you I would make some small skips in the music (5-6 times in each track)...... this way the label Dj's wont copy your music and start to distribute it to the mp3 mafia's and the labels will not be able to release it without your permission !!!! Also remember to write that you are the sole owner of the tracks and that you hold the copyright for. Good luck mate.. Quote
Guest llazi Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 Thanks for the reply but I don't think i'm gonna do the skips. It's the first time i send a demo and I would be happy if the dj is gonna use it. (but he wont caus I still don't reach the dancfloor quality, haven't mastered them properly). About the copyright, I will write it down but it's fake caus I haven't registered them. Quote
Guest llazi Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 Hey EA. tell me please your opinion. I've talked to the Dark Soho guys about mastering my tracks. You think I schould let them master my tracks before i send it around or schould I wait and let a label that wants to release my tracks do the job. ps. maybe u're right about the skips but it just seems so shitty to me Quote
Guest .:::EP Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 Well anyone that care about their music do the skips before they send it off to the labels. Dont worry about mastering... the labels will take care of teh mastering if they are going to release it.. Quote
Guest Full Lotus Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 Yep, EP is right, Yumade did the same thing for their last album, I know cuz I heard it. Sounded fine to me Quote
