Guest SARAGI
HI, I use subtractor for kiks. Connect only gate input with redrum or matrix. It is fun to make . I have no idea about midi.
Guest psydoo
take a clean single drumkick from a mp3-song. cut out with a wave editing software like steinberg wavelab and save the drumkick sequence as .wav-file. then you can import sample in redrum. Guest Kiva -- Green Sector --
WHOOOOAAAA hold on a min use an mp3? u crazy man. If you want a solid kick you just have to invest in some GOOD QUALITY sample cd's. These are usually recorded at a very good sound quality and can be even beefier when rewired with other software that can give it a propper EQ and Compression. But in all honesty finding the right kick can be hard. If all you have is reason then try this : 1.Find a decent sample that is good quality, loud and clear to start with! put it on CH1 of your redrum. 2.Take the line (left) from Ch1 of your redrum and patch it to a Parametric twoband EQ. now feed the output of the EQ to any Ch on the mixer. Depending on your sample-Find the frequency range you like and bob your head a little bit more. now youll have a seprate volume control for just your Kick. This is nice when your mixing you track together as opposed to having it play with the rest of your drums. 3.Add a compressor to the mix and Go! Have fun!
