Hels
Hey my Virus just has a typical instrument cable jack and I wanna line it into my PC but my PC just has RCA jacks. Can I just use adapters to change the size and then use RCA instead of the instrument cables or is the signal different? Two instrument cables for stereo = sux! Anyway the headphone jack uses that size jack as well (the instrument cable sized, dunno the measurement) and I just used an adapter for that. I was wondering if I could just use two of those in the right/left line outputs and then plug the RCA cable into that...? Thanks!
Guest DeeperNETWERK
You can get RCA to 1/4' converters, yes. I don't suggest it, but it's possible. You will add noise to the conversion ADC. Two instrument cables for stereo sucks? Why do you say that... That's what your SUPPOSED to do. Get yourself a new sound card, buy 2 balences 1/4 inch cords and quit bitchin'. lol ( dont take me serious on that last one)
Guest Reflekshun
Are you seroius? RCA -> 1/4" converters (and vice versa) add noise?
Guest DeeperNETWERK
yes, RCA cables alone will add noise to audio. They are certainly not recommended for audio use. Don't ask me why some soundcards only have RCA inputs... All i know is they are ussually the cheapest card the manufacture produces. Really really good RCA would do fine... like monster cable for car audio, cause they have gold conductors on them... regular RCA is just plated, therefor ... it doesn't really do a good job. Guest Kiva -- Green Sector --
Hi just thought id say something so nobody is confused. Rca cables with gold connectors are effective when using gold female connectors. If your sound card has gold Female/Rca's your in! If you have gold male plugs like the ones DeeperNETWERK is talking about, and your sound card does not have the gold! well then you just might as well just keep the silver plated cables and save your money! Some consumer sound cards have the gold but if your using a VIRUS you should be looking at something a little more proffesional.
