Guest mike Posted March 1, 2003 Posted March 1, 2003 what do u think about it, i was thinking to get ms2000, but this one just came out not long ago, need advises. Quote
Guest nepenthes Posted March 3, 2003 Posted March 3, 2003 well, it's a great little engine but... try a nord lead! Quote
Guest Psidomin Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 If you are to choose between MS2000 & Microkorg, go with the MS2k!! I've tryed out the microkorg, and it ain't that fantastic! OBS! The last korg -models (MS2k, EA1 & Micro) has one big flaw... The volume goes down as you turn up the resonance, I don't really know how to explain this good (my english sucks!!)... I own one MS2K and one Electribe EA1, and they both suck when it comes to really high, sharp sounds, the only way to get those sound is to ad dist, but thats coloring the sound to much... I'm selling my MS2000 now, and i'm going for a Novation K-Station. The KS is in the same price-range as the MS2k & Micro, but in my homble opinion, it sound way better!! my two cents... Quote
Guest soliptic Posted March 13, 2003 Posted March 13, 2003 Yes yes... Between and MS2K and a Microkorg, DEFINITELY an MS2K. I've got an MS2K, I like it a lot, but I dont think the Microkorg is really worth anybody's time to be honest. As for the KS - my housemate has one, which I actually use more than he does these days - I'd say its not better but different! Its better at your "classic" analogue lead/bass sounds - monosynth-y, moog-y, 303-y, squelchy kinda sounds. things like the distortion and filter drive are really excellent here. But its less flexible... No hp/bp filter - no 16 step sequencer - no virtual patch bay - So, its not so good at pads, sequence/arp based noises, and the extremely wide range of odd noises the MS2K can be pushed into (guitar sounds, keyboards, vocal sounds, drum sounds, alien sounds, etc). just imho Quote
Guest bandarlog Posted July 25, 2003 Posted July 25, 2003 the ms2k is better offcourse... AND more expensive. I own a microkorg and use it for psytrance-production and I have to say I like it very much! There are only 2 things that bother me: 1. Only 1 channel (one sound with at most 2 timbres) and 2. The distortion is on/off so you can't put some distortion on it. But if you have the money, go for the really real stuff (I'd go for a used virus Quote
