Guest schism
many different ways to play live. the most important though: do you have enough tracks and material you're comfortable with? as to how you'll play it back, well are you using primarily software to make your music? computers vs. dat vs. hardware sequencers vs. cdjs etc. how are you gonna replicate your fx live? lots of options depending on what direction you've taken in the studio
Guest mugge
Try a program called live from Ableton, it's rokkin'.
Guest gallowglass
not all that well suited to psytrance though in my opinion...

Guest soliptic
but he did say no laptop. personally i'm just sorting out my live rig right now, here is what i'm gonna be using: Roland SP808-EX groovesampler, Korg MS2000R, Emu XK-6, Mackie CFX-12, Korg Kaoss Pad, CD Decks, Congas, Didj Basically with the roland I get 4 simultaneous stereo samples, and with clever enough preparation of my loops from studio tracks, this is just about enough to contsruct the solid bones of a track. then i have my xk-6 which has 16-channel multitimbral apreggiation with user-programmable arpeggiation settings, and i can bring in each of the 16 arps with buttons easily, so i may offload a load of the arps and synths onto this. on the other hand the roland isnt sending midi clock so sync might be an issue, not sure about this yet. then there is the MS2K basically providing me a spare synth for jamming the odd line on top maybe. The Roland fortunately has expanded I/O so i can take each channel separately into the mackie desk, along with the synths and cd decks. the desk has internel FX for tweaking each channel somewhat, plus we will have the kaoss pad wired up on the send FX 2, for more extreme FX processing. then my housemate will be operating his cd decks alongside me, using them to drop in samples or beatmatch in new loops. finally my ex-housemate will be jamming on congas and didj which will hopefully help me out - add a "live" element to distract the audience from any lack of fine detail in the music (compared with studio versions). cost? hmm. Roland SP808-EX groovesampler - got mine £450 on ebay Korg MS2000R - about £500 now i think Emu XK-6 - also about £500 now (i paid £720 - bastards!!) Mackie CFX-12 - also about £500 Korg Kaoss Pad - donno, its not mine - about £200 i think CD Decks - donno, not mine - about £1000 i think Congas - donno, not mine - about £300 i think Didj - free - he nicked a tree and made it himself total cost about £3500 there's more than one way to skin a cat tho. i offer this as an example setup only!
